- INTRODUCTION
We welcome you to our Website www.tartaras.gr and to our online store (hereinafter referred to as “eshop”).
The Website and the eshop are owned by the company named “TARTARAS K. KON/NOU G.P.” and the distinctive title “TARTARAS OPTIKA”, based in Athens, Akadimias 4, P.C. 10677, with TIN 998848112, Registration Number 006623401000, tel. 2103604180, email: info@tartaras.gr (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”).
Please read carefully the present Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as "TOU"), which shall apply to every user of the website and to all contracts concluded between a consumer/client and the Company relating to all goods and/or services presented in the Company's eshop.
Your browsing the Website and the conclusion of any transaction or even communication between you and the Company means the unconditional acceptance by you of these TOU.
In case you do not agree with any of these Terms, please discontinue using the Website, otherwise continuing using and browsing will be interpreted as acceptance of these Terms.
The Company reserves the right to modify these Terms without your prior notice, so it is advisable to check the content of this page for any changes at regular intervals.
- USE OF THE WEBSITE AND THE ESHOP
The use of the Website and the eshop is made exclusively for legal purposes and in a way that does not restrict or impede its use by third parties. You are therefore obliged to act in accordance with the law, good faith and fair dealing, to provide your true details (surname, name, address, e-mail) in the contact form or order form and to refrain from any action that may cause damage or malfunction to the online store or alter the content of the Website.
- PRODUCTS
- Product Availability
The products displayed in our eshop are available as long as they have the relevant indication of availability. The Company updates as soon as possible the status of product availability in the online store; while at the same time it retains the right to modify the types or quantity of products that are available. In case of error, if the product you ordered is not available, we inform you immediately and you have the option to either cancel your order or wait until it becomes available.
- Product prices
Unless otherwise stated in the product description, the prices indicated in the eshop are the total prices of the products including VAT and are valid exclusively for online purchases and not for purchases from our physical store. This explains the fact that the price of some products in the online store may differ from their price in the physical store, such as in case of online discounts and offers. The Company does not bear any responsibility and does not cover any difference in the price of the product purchased from the physical store in relation to the price in the online store.
The Company has the right to change the prices of the products displayed in the online store at any time, however it makes every effort to ensure that the listed prices are accurate, although it cannot guarantee the complete absence of error. In case that an incorrect price has been entered for a product you have ordered, you have the option to either cancel your order or make the purchase at the actual price of the product.
- ORDER
Please note that the correctness and accuracy of the information you enter on the order form is your responsibility, so please be careful when filling them out.
*Additionally, it is your responsibility to choose the appropriate contact lenses and solution and how to use them. We also point out that for reasons of health and protection of your eyes, a prerequisite for the purchase of contact lenses through the eshop is the previous visit to an ophthalmologist and the purchase of lenses by prescription.
Once we receive your order, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you have stated, including all the details of your order (order number, the products you have chosen, the total purchase cost, the invoicing details, the shipping address, the contact details of the Company, the deadline for exercising the right of withdrawal.
In the event that you find an error in this confirmation email, we recommend that you contact us immediately to resolve it. The Company can contact you at the email address or mobile phone you have stated, regarding any issue related to your order, such as payment, return or change of the product.
- PAYMENT METHOD
Payment can be made by credit / debit card (Visa, Master, Diners, Maestro). The Company uses “Stripe”, as a payment processor which supports the electronic transfer of money from the customer's bank into the Company's bank as payment for goods or services bought with a credit card.
- SECURE TRANSACTIONS
The Company takes all necessary measures for the security of your data and electronic transactions, which are protected from possible breaches and interceptions by the method of decryption through the use of the SSL protocol (SecureSocketsLayer) for secure online commercial transactions. Credit or debit card transactions are made through the security system of Stripe. The Company does not have access to your banking data and does not store information related to your bank or credit / debit card, nor is it liable for any damage (direct or indirect – positive or negative) from illegal or unauthorized use of your card.
Transactions through Stripe’s payment processing platform are made in a completely secure environment. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To accomplish this, Stripe uses the best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain a high level of security.
- SHIPMENT AND DELIVERY
Our products are generally delivered on dispatch route and to the delivery address indicated by the Client, unless agreed otherwise. Subject to product availability, orders placed electronically are prepared and shipped from our store within the same working day, otherwise as soon as possible. In any case, you are being informed by email about the progress of your order and the estimated delivery time. Please note that the delivery time depends on the shipping service provider and other not controllable conditions.
For domestic orders, the products are shipped in cooperation with the company ACS and the delivery time varies for prefecture capitals from 1-3 working days and for other regions of the country from 2-3 working days. In the event that the shipment is towards destinations that are hard to reach the delivery time may extend to 5 working days.
Within the EU and globally, the products are shipped in cooperation with the company DHL and the delivery time range is estimated, on average, between 2-5 working days. However, please keep in mind that delivery times can vary depending on the destination from 2-3 days for neighboring countries and up to 20 days for countries with long distances.
Within Greece and the EU you will not be charged any shipping costs. All other international orders will be charged a shipping fee of 60 euros. You will be informed about the final shipping costs during the checkout process.
In case the delivery to the indicated when submitting the order address was not possible and the assigned transport company returns the goods to the Company, you bear the costs for the unsuccessful dispatch. This shall not apply, if you exercise your right to cancel effectively, if the delivery cannot be made due to circumstances beyond your control or if you have been temporarily impeded to receive the offered service, unless the Company has notified you about the service for a reasonable time in advance.
You always have the option to pick up your order from our physical store, free of charge, within ten (10) working days from the confirmation email informing you that the product is ready to be received.
Please note that the Company is not responsible for delays in the execution of the order, including the delivery of the product, due to events of force majeure or any other event which cannot be attributed to its fault (such as strikes, natural disasters, etc.). However, in case of significant delay or problem regarding your order, we will do our best to keep you informed (e.g. for any change in the delivery date), while, when applicable, giving you the opportunity to modify or cancel your order.
- RETURN POLICY - CANCELLATION
You have the right to unjustifiably withdraw from a purchase made by our eshop within 14 calendar days from the date of receipt of the product, namely the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires physical possession of the goods. Therefore you shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from the purchase contract to us.
The exercise of the right of withdrawal is done in writing by sending a letter by post on the Company’s address (4 Akadimias str., Athens) or by email to the address info@tartaras.gr. In any case your decision to cancel the contract should be expressed by a clear statement. You may use the attached model withdrawal form (link), but it is not obligatory.
By exercising the right of withdrawal, your order will be cancelled, provided the product is returned in its original condition. Please note that it must not have been used and you must return it to us in the same excellent condition as you received it, i.e. without any damage, processing or alteration. The product must be returned in its original packaging, with all accessories and with all packaging components, together with the purchase receipt and any other documents, such as instructions for use, guarantees and certificates of authenticity. If you no longer have the original packaging, please provide adequate protection against transport damage with suitable packaging.
After reviewing it, we will send you an email confirming that we have received it and we will issue a refund based on the payment method you selected.
We will reimburse to you the payment received from you, except for any shipping costs that you have already paid which are non-refundable, without undue delay and not later than ten (10) days after the day on which we received the return.
The direct costs of returning the goods are to be borne by you, unless the cancellation and refund is requested due to a defect in the product that existed upon receipt, as analyzed below. In particular, under the aforementioned exception, if you are sending back the package from Greece you will not bear any return costs. If you are sending back the package from abroad the return costs are borne by you.
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. In any case, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
Please note that returns are not accepted in the following cases:
- when the product has been purchased during special promotions (e.g. Black Friday).
- when it comes to lenses that have already been installed according to your order in the frame you have chosen or specially ordered or by prescription lenses, such as astigmatic, multifocal or colored with degrees of myopia.
- when the product has been specially ordered by the manufacturer upon your request.
- DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
In case the product you received is defective or shows lack of an agreed property and the Company is responsible, you have the right: a) to demand, without your additional charge, its repair or replacement with another, unless this is impossible or requires disproportionate costs, b) to request a price reduction or c) to withdraw from the contract if the defect is not insignificant. The existence of a real defect or the lack of agreed capacity is ascertained after the inspection of the product by the Company, reserving until then its legal rights.
In any case, you should contact us as soon as you receive the product and find out the defect or lack of agreed quality, either by calling us at 2103604180 either by sending us an email at the email address: info@tartaras.gr.
- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
All the content of the Website www.tartaras.gr, which includes, indicatively and not restrictively, trademarks, product names, logos, domain names, images, graphics, photographs, drawings, texts, video etc., except for those that belong to third parties or partners, is considered to be intellectual and industrial property of the Company and is protected under the relevant provisions of Greek law, European law, international law and international conventions.
It is expressly prohibited for any reason and in any way, without the written consent of the Company, any use, copying, falsification, analog / digitally recording, reproduction, distribution, transfer, edit of a part or of the whole content of the Website, except for strictly personal use.
- DECLARATION OF LIABILITY
The Company makes every effort to ensure the wholeness and validity of the information provided on the Website, as well as the accurate and representative display and description of the products. However, given the specific features of the presentation and display of the products on the internet, it is possible that their image on the Website in terms of color or size differs slightly from their actual appearance.
The Company is not responsible or liable for any errors in features and photos of the products and reserves the right at any time to correct any inadvertent errors or inaccuracies.
Moreover, the Company does not control or bears the responsibility for the content, the quality of the services or the protection policy followed by other websites, to which it refers through "links", hyperlinks or advertising banners.
Finally, the Company reserves the right to have unforeseen and unintentional technical or typographical errors and the occurrence of force majeure events or factors beyond its control, such as technical problems, internet interruption or overload, failure to send or accept messages due to lack of available space etc. , which may affect the operation of the Website and the services provided.

- The Company fully complies with all relevant provisions of national and EU legislation governing electronic contracts (e.g. the provisions of the Civil Code, the provisions of Law 2251/1994 on Consumer Protection, the provisions of Law 4624/2019 on the protection of personal data and any other relevant legislation).
